Latitude 38's Free Crew Lists
Returning users: Log in to Your Crew List
Are you looking to connect to sailing? Looking for a boat to crew on, planning to go cruising, organizing your racing season, want to sail in the Baja Ha-Ha, or would just like some company for a pleasant day on the Bay? Whatever type of sailing you're looking for, we've got a skipper/crew list for you. It's free and instantaneous!
Latitude 38's Crew Lists are designed to get people who want to crew in contact with skippers of boats that need crew, for recreational sailing. You're welcome to take part as long as you read and acknowledge the disclaimer below and are at least 18 years old. Click here for complete instructions and tips.
Important: this list intended to facilitate free, recreational sailing only. No charter businesses or crew/captains expecting to be paid, please.
To get listed, fill out the appropriate form and click ‘submit’. Your name and information will instantly become part of that list on our Web site. Help us keep the crew list current by deleting your listing when you've found what you were looking for. To delete or edit your listing, log in to Your Crew List. Listings will expire a year after they were last modified. You don't need to be listed or log in to read a crew list or respond to a listing. Crew is encouraged to contact skippers - you needn't be a wallflower waiting for someone to ask you!
A few quick tips:
- Be honest. Don’t inflate your skill level or exaggerate your experience. People with little sailing experience have almost as good a chance at getting on a boat as those with lots. If you email a skipper, include your sailing experience (or sailing resume if you have one) in your initial contact.
- Fill out the form as completely as possible. The more information readers have about you, the more likely they are to contact you.
- Be responsible. You must make certain commitments of time, effort and dependability. The continued good reputation of the Crew List depends on you living up to those commitments.
Before acting on a crew listing, particularly if you're going to invest time and/or money to get to a boat or have someone come to your boat, use common sense. Do the best vetting you can. Ask for references. Remember that people are very different. Hope for the best, assume the worst.
All set? Have at it, good luck, and please drop us a line let us know how it all worked out.
